How to use it

- 3
Download the TSV and choose tab as the separator in Anki import.
Check encoding and field mapping before a large import
Anki can import text files, but an incorrect delimiter, encoding, or field mapping can swap fronts and backs or corrupt non-Latin text. This converter reads quoted CSV cells or tab-separated rows, treats the first two columns as front and back, and exports UTF-8 TSV. It flags rows with an empty field and repeated fronts so you can clean the data before it enters a collection.
The conversion does not configure note types, tags, media, HTML, or duplicate policy inside Anki. Line breaks inside cells may render differently depending on import settings. Test a few rows in a temporary deck first, confirm field mapping and characters, and back up an existing collection before a large import. The narrow two-field scope keeps the operation understandable and lets the source material stay on your device.
This tool works without an account and processes the inputs in your browser. Treat the result as a decision aid, then compare it with the rules in your syllabus or the latest information from the testing provider. A number is most useful when it changes what you do next: isolate the weak material, turn it into a clear retrieval prompt, and schedule another attempt after some forgetting has occurred. That closes the loop between calculation and durable learning.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a CSV exported from Excel?
Yes. Exporting as UTF-8 CSV reduces character problems. Confirm the preview before downloading the TSV.
Will images and audio be converted?
No. This converter handles two text fields. Media files must be added and referenced through Anki separately.
Does this tool upload my study data?
The calculation or conversion runs in this browser. Avoid entering confidential information, and keep an exported backup of material you cannot replace.
Can I treat the result as an official grade or score?
Use it as a planning estimate. Your school, testing provider, syllabus, and official score report take priority over this browser calculation.
