Weighted Grade Calculator

For each row, divide the percentage score and weight by 100, multiply them, and add the result. A 90% exam worth 40% contributes 36 percentage points to the final course grade. The raw weighted total is meaningful when the listed weights cover the full course. When only 60% has been graded, dividing earned weighted points by 0.60 gives a normalized current grade for the included work.

Do not silently assume missing categories are zeros unless the gradebook does. This calculator reports both the included weight and normalized value so you can see the difference. Category caps, dropped scores, lowest-assignment rules, extra credit, curves, and rounding require separate handling. Copy the exact weights from the syllabus and use a clear row for every rule you can represent. If the total exceeds 100%, find the duplicate or confirm that an extra-credit category is intentionally outside the base total.
